When I started to decorate my laundry room, I got funny looks from my husband, but I couldn't help but post a few things I used to glam it up a bit!
After doing my son's room with blueprints of airplanes and cars, I really loved the look of that vintage patent artwork. Thinking about someone drawing the original artwork for the washing machine invented in 1887 just brings a lot of weight and fun history to the artwork.
I purchased the wooden "laundry" sign unfinished and spray painted it silver. I just love the way it turned out. I think the swashes are just gorgeous and add some glam to the laundry room!
Here's a close-up of the 8x 10 Laundry Room Patent Art Prints framed with white mats. Each frame measures 11 x 14. I love that they come in a set. I purchased five frames for these prints, plus the Laundry Room symbols artwork below.
I always want to add a personal touch to each room. I had been meaning to add photos of the kids actually IN the laundry room to the room for ages. It makes me smile every time I do laundry now. The photos are all 5x7 black in white with white mats and frames.
I stumbled across the Laundry Room Wall Art Print while I was looking at the Laundry Room Patent Art Prints above and HAD to have it. I NEVER know what all the symbols mean on laundry and having it right above the washing machine is so handy!
I found the "Laundry Day A Never-Ending Cycle" sign at the At Home store when we first moved into our house in 2015 and love it and chuckle to myself every time I see it but it always looked so lonely. But Amazon has some cute ones of course.
Now to the real but not so pretty wall! I have a 32" smart Vizio TV and a cordless Dyson vacuum mounted (I have a Dyson on each floor 😬), an Orbi Wifi Mesh router, and Sonos Boost on a little shelf. I haven't found a way to make the cords pretty. I asked for the TV to be installed for Valentine's Day this year (so romantic, right?!) Let me tell you, watching TV while doing laundry is a complete game-changer. Now I secretly look forward to a nice cup of coffee, the kids playing, while I wash/dry/fold and watch the Today Show or Rick Steves Europe: Tours, Travel, TV & Vacations. I pretend I'm in Europe on vacation...folding laundry?? 😃
I am absolutely obsessed with the NETGEAR Orbi Tri-band Whole Home Mesh WiFi System. I could/maybe will write an entire post about it because I have one on each floor of my house and have ZERO wifi dead spots and get 99mbps all over the house. 🤓 I am a tech nerd. I plug my Sonos Boost into it so that my Sonos app is on the same network as the kids' Nanit baby monitors (I should write a post about how much I love these too!). No switching wifi networks to listen to music or check on the kidos for this mama!
Maybe I'll have an update with some kind of cord cover or box, I'd love any suggestions!
When we moved in, all the closets in the house were completely empty. We measured them all and I designed all of them myself using EasyClosets. I absolutely love this company based in Wisconsin. They were so helpful with all our questions and they ship so quickly. Here's a picture of our laundry room closet! My husband wanted to DIY and enjoyed the easy instructions. I plan to write a review about how we used EasyClosets for all five bedrooms, two coat closets, the laundry room, and the office!
My tip for designing a laundry room closet is to make sure you measure the height of your laundry baskets so you can fit one (or two stacked) under the bottom shelves! I added a hanging rod so I could put clean clothes on hangers. On the wall on the right we have our ironing board and some cleaning stuff hanging from a garage organizer.
Thanks for stopping by!
